Quimbolitos are a traditional dish of Ecuadorian cuisine.
A quimbolito is a delicious pastry speckled with raisins and steamed in an achira or plantain leaf to keep the moisture and add to their flavor.
The batter or dough is a mix of cornflour, wheat flour, butter, eggs, sugar, and creamy cheese.

Quimbolitos are sweet, moist, and filling.
Delicious together with milk or a hot cup of coffee.
