Why Visit Rio de Janeiro?

Rio is a city of contrasts, where stunning beaches meet lush mountains. It offers a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation—perfect for couples. Whether you seek breathtaking views, vibrant nightlife, or unique museums, Rio has it all.

Best Things to Do in Rio de Janeiro for Couples

1. Christ the Redeemer

No trip to Rio is complete without seeing Christ the Redeemer. Take the scenic train up Corcovado for an unforgettable view of the city. The panoramic scenery from the top makes it a must-visit for couples. Tips: Taking the train up is overrated, and the lines are too long. Also, if it is a sunny day, you will be waiting in line for a while, so wear sunblock, bring water, and I would even suggest having an umbrella to cover yourself. There are places to refill your water bottle at the top.

Otherwise, as we did, book this day tour so that your guide will be in charge of all the transportation details, and you can get more out of the day, including Christ the Redeemer.

2. Sugarloaf Mountain

Next, head to Sugarloaf Mountain. The journey involves two cable cars—first to Morro da Urca, where you can stop for a drink and enjoy the view. Then, take the second cable car up to Sugarloaf’s peak, where you’ll witness a stunning sunset together. The cable cars are spacious, with large windows, offering breathtaking views as you ascend. 5. Relax at Copacabana & Ipanema Beach

Copacabana Beach is perfect for a scenic stroll, an early meditation, or sipping a refreshing caipirinha by the shore. We especially loved the seaside stalls with live music right in front of our hotel—nothing beats enjoying fresh açaí while soaking up the local vibe.

Ipanema Beach offers a trendier vibe, ideal for people-watching and enjoying the sunset together. We also found some de-li-cious feijoada not far from the beach.
