What to do, where to go, sights and more in Dubrobnik
Planning the trip
The idea was already incepted in our brains by one of our friends. We should try to plan a trip together they said, we of course felt compelled to join!
Some days researching on the best places to visit during Easter holidays from Norway, taking into consideration weather, prices and that hopefully it was a new destination to all 6 of us.
The choices were narrowed to three and we all agreed that Dubrovnik would be the best option when choosing our destination.
Book a tour
Booking a tour will ease communication barriers and avoid the hassles of planning and logistics when visiting Dubrovnik. If you can here are some tour suggestions, including a day tour to Montenegro.
Our trip
April 2nd we wake up early, very Early, and 4 15am we arrive at the airport, our journey was about to start and we were very excited.
1st stop is in Amsterdam, where we get onboard our flight with KLM. There is a 4h wait which for me meant a short and deserved nap at Schiphol.
We then got onboard Croatia Airlines and 1h40 min later arrive to Zagreb. We spent an hour and some more at the small not very modern airport (more like a bit old or communist affected) and then we go on board the last flight towards Dubrovnik.
Finally we arrive to Dubrovnik!
We ordered a taxi to our hotel, so we could capture some of the breathtaking vistas along the way. Here some:
After 15 minutes we arrive to our hotel Valamar Argosy located in Lapad area.

First night, we had already planned to get some seafood, so went out to Eat at Levanat located a short walk away from our hotel.
Croatia is named a foodie hotspot, and it is no mistake, when it comes to seafood this country has great variety and taste!
We decided of course to order a dish recommended by Lonely Planet, the prawns with honey and sage were as good as promised.
Day 1, April 3rd at 8 am we meet for the bountiful breakfast buffet. We enjoy a tasty bountiful selection of warm and cold food.
We get onboard bus number 6 direction PILE and get ready to explore the old town, a time capsule that has been declared UNESCO’s world heritage site.
The cathedral of the assumption of the virgin, contains 138 gold pieces from 11th to 17th c.
As we stroll along the stone cobbled streets of the old town, we admire and are witness to all that Dibrobnik has achieved through our time in different arenas.

1700 we are ready for dinner
Our restaurant is Kinoba Penatur
Day 3 we have breakfast and take it a bit more aloof today, at 1130 we are downtown and ready to enter the city walls and admire from a different perspective what are the finest city walls in the world. Built between 13th and 16th c.
Along the walls we get to admire postcard vistas of the Adriatic blue and turquoise sea on one hand and on the other we retrace history with the views of the old town
At 1430 we take a break and find again Valentina and Yihan.
1500 we are inside the Dominican monastery built in a gothic and rennaissance style in the 14th c. and go inside to take a look at the 15th c. Cloister.
